This section of the website will provide teachers with examples of activities which facilitate the exploration of the full spectrum of views within the classroom about controversial topics in history as well as providing pupils with opportunities to explore how history has been interpreted to create stereotypical perceptions and to justify views and actions.
The activities will focus on
- Using commemoration of a historical event in all its forms to explore the ways in which the past has been interpreted.
- Using personal stories to explore different perspectives within the one community.
- Developing the skills of debate and discussion.
